The transcript

No later than 14 days after filing the Notice of Appeal an appellant must either order the transcript of proceedings necessary for the appeal or file with the circuit clerk a certificate stating that no transcript will be ordered. FRAP 10(b).

If the transcript of the trial or other proceedings, or a portion thereof, is necessary for the appeal, it must be ordered at the earliest possible moment. The transcript can be ordered as early as during the trial court proceedings but not later than 14 days after the filing of the Notice of Appeal. To order transcripts, the appellant must complete the Civil Appeal Transcript Information Form D which can be found on the Court's website. The appellant must forward a copy of Form D to the court reporter and file the original with the circuit clerk no later than 14 days after filing the Notice of Appeal. LR 12.1(a)(2). If the appellant does not intend to order a transcript, the appellant must check the appropriate box on Form D and file Form D with the Court no later than 14 days after the filing of the Notice of Appeal. A pro se appellant must use Form D-P in place of Form D.
