State-Federal Judicial Councils

Committee on Federal-State Jurisdiction:

 

  • To analyze proposed changes in federal jurisdiction and to serve as liaison with the state courts.


  • Make recommendations on proposals regarding elimination, modification, or creation of new federal jurisdiction (including diversity), creation of new courts, territorial issues, and revision of venue provisions.


  • Serve as the conduit for communication on matters of mutual concern between the federal judiciary and state courts and their support organizations such as the National Center of State Courts, the Conference of Chief Justices, and the State Justice Institute.
