Retrieving a PACER password
A forgotten PACER password can be retrieved from the PACER Service Center. Click here to get
started.
1. On the PACER Account Information screen click Request Forgotten Password in the bottom left.

2. A new screen opens to submit account information to the PACER Service Center to request retrieval of the forgotten password. Enter the
requested information and click Submit.
Whether the user receives the password by email or US Mail depends on whether password security information was provided when the user created the PACER

Retrieving a CM/ECF appellate filer username or password
A forgotten CM/ECF appellate username or password can be
retrieved from the PACER Service Center. Click here to
get started.
1. On the Login to Appellate Filer Account Update screen click Retrieve

2. A new screen opens to submit account information to the PACER Service
Center to request retrieval of the forgotten appellate filer username or
password. Enter the requested information and click
Submit.
