Established in 1974, the Second Circuit's Civil Appeals Mediation Program (CAMP) has facilitated the resolution of thousands of appeals.

The Court's mediation program comprises two full-time circuit mediators and the Pro Bono Appellate Mediator Panel. To apply to be a member of the Pro Bono Mediator Panel click here.

Authorized by Federal Rule of Appellate Procedure 33, Local Rule 33.1 allows the Court to direct all counseled, civil appeals to mediation, except for a very limited category of cases. CAMP reviews each eligible case for mediation suitability and orders are issued for mediation appropriate to each case.

Each year, hundreds of cases are screened into mediation and participate in CAMP.
